Frequently Asked Questions

What is a colonic?

A colonic, also known as colon hydrotherapy, is a gentle cleansing treatment where warm, filtered water is introduced into the colon to help loosen and release residual waste. Colon cleansing dates back to the ancient Egyptians and, at one point, was routinely used in hospitals across the United States as standard nursing practice. Today, colonics are a trusted wellness modality amongst health practitioners, athletes, busy parents, models, celebrities, high-performing executives, and anyone seeking to optimize health and support overall vitality.

How do I prepare for a treatment?

For optimal results, it’s recommend to eat a whole-food, plant-focused, and hydrating diet in the days leading up to an appointment. Enjoy fruits, vegetables, smoothies, salads, juices (especially those containing beets), soups, and stews, while minimizing meat, dairy, nuts, legumes, and processed foods. On the day of the treatment, aim to fast at least 3 hours prior and stop drinking liquids 1-2 hours beforehand to avoid a full bladder.
Post-session, have a fresh green juice and, ideally, fast for the rest of the day. If fasting isn't possible, stick to lightly cooked or easily digestible raw, plant-based foods.

How many colonics should I get?

Frequency is dependent on diet, lifestyle, and health goals. Some clients come in weekly or biweekly, while others come in once a month or quarterly. Generally, a series of three treatments within two weeks is suggested for first-time clients.

I’m on my period. Can I still get a treatment?

Yes. A colonic during menstruation may even help with cramping and bloating.
